Fitbit Day 1 Real! 9-13-13 Friday
Weight: 273.0 lbs
Calories: 3629
Calories: 3629
Morale: Kinda Low
Feeling: Uneasy
I synced my account to Myfitnesspal.com being there is a
much better food log available on there. It keeps track of my calorie intake as
well as exercises performed and then provides me with a Fit bit adjuster. The Fitbit
does have a better display but the fitness planner has a barcode scanner so
should I purchase a foodstuff or beverage I can just scan it in and it will do
all the work keeping track. I kept my 3000 calorie goal and wore a long sleeve
shirt to work. I do not want my coworkers to yet know that I wasted $100 on a
device that may provide me with the motivation required to lose the weight I
desired. I did a good job as no one saw that I wore it over the course of the
day. I was still using the default goals that were set and was proud to notice
I had lost 3629 calories. I walked 7423 steps. It was a marvelous feeling to
know that I was off to such a good start. Then came along the food log. I had
scanned everything I ate into the Myfitnesspal and found that I had eated 3860
calories. It told me that if I kept my current in/out ratio I would weigh 278
pounds in five weeks. This was the exact information I had been desiring and I
was so depressed to find it out.
In other news I was impressed by my sleeping log. I found
that I slept for five hours and twenty nine minutes and woke up two times. This
I used as a benchmark to sort of test the accuracy of the device. It even told
me how long it took me to get to sleep. A whopping six minutes. The six minutes
sounded pretty darn correct and I distinctly remember waking up two times. So
that was pretty darn sweet. Though I did find that Fitbit wanted me to pay for
a premium account in order to get some of the cooler features. I spent $100
bucks on this thing. Why do I have to pay an additional $50 to get more
features. At this time I am not paying for it. But we shall see. I decided that
if I lose 10 pounds as a result of the information this thing gives me I will
be better off. I will start weighing myself on Sunday nights and see how pans
out for me.
But as for how to reduce my caloric intake. That is at least
an easy answer. I ate fast food for lunch and my ladyfriend and I went out to
eat for dinner. I found it to be an expensive day. I need to cut back on fast
food. But let’s be honest with ourselves. Food is clearly one of my greatest
weaknesses.
