Day 5, 6, 7 9-17 through 9-19

Day 5,6,7  9-17-13, 9-18-13, 9-19-13

Today I realized I have a test on Thursday and I have not been studying very hard for it. Panic has begun to set in and now I will have to make sure I learned everything I need to know for the test. I’m not incredibly confident in my ability. Whether I survive this test or not I will most definitely start studying on a more regular schedule. I have three math classes. (classes meaning calc 2, calc 3, calc 4) left to take before I have finished the requirements for my degree.

In class today to get a little extra exercise, and to keep myself from falling asleep I began walking a little faster and more frequently around the building. I found that I was able to get the last 20% of my goal doing that. So I finally found a way to get what I need on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  As for food. I’ve been sticking to my diet pretty well. This weekend Elyssa and I have planned to do something a little more vigorously in an effort to stay active.

Day 6,
I had resolved to leave work on time and go home in order to study. My exam is tomorrow. However, at work we had a representative come up from Georgia and I accidentally volunteered myself to take him out to dinner. It’s not a huge deal. Just probably a bad idea as I need to study for my test. We went to Dolittles Woodfire Grill. Turns out our rep is a genuinely cool dude and we each ordered a beer. Being connoisseurs of such things. It was then that I made an interesting discovery. New Belgium 1554 goes really well with Dr Pepper!
I went home and started studying. I was forced to bed early as I decided sleep was necessary for me to continue. Today I went over on calories for the first time.

Day 7,
I got off work today at 11:30. Came straight home, and studied before my test. I am unsure how I did. On the questions actually requiring me to show math I feel I may have done okay, however there were other questions that were true/false and fill in the blank. Those I don’t think I did so well on. It depresses me to think about my score. But I should know by the end of the weekend. Today was uneventful as was the week. I stayed within my calorie allowance however. It is doubtful I will post my math score unless I somehow did okay.

Day 4 9-16-13

Day 4 9-16-13

Today was uneventful. After work I went to the YMCA and did strength training. So far my diet has been okay. But other than that not much to report. I made my 3000 calorie goal with little problems. Shit’s going pretty smooth. I decided Sunday I will add measurements to my calendar.

Day 3! 9-15-13

Fitbit Day 3! 9-15-13 Sunday

Weight:269
Calories: 3645
Morale: High

I weighed myself today and found that I had reached my goal weight in less than four days. I don’t know how. I am attributing it to voodoo magic and the fact that I haven’t been eating all that much since Friday. Also I have been actively trying to get my calorie burn up. I woke up at the crack of noon today to three dogs deciding it was time to wrassle. I would say wrestle but I don’t feel that to be the most appropriate term. Two black labs and a Great Dane decided it would be a great time to pounce on me at once. Elyssa woke me up and I took a shower. Elyssa wanting to work out and I wanting to take it easy as I hold the view that Sunday is the Lord’s Day and so you should rest. Something I find my girlfriend understands only at her convenience. I finally agreed that we could take the dogs out to play fetch only to discover that for some reason they did not care to play today.  It seemed that they too wanted to rest on the lords day. Though the Great Dane did chase a flock of geese that were hoarding the park. Elyssa and I then walked my black lab from her house to my house. A two and a half miles total. Upon arriving at home I synched the Fitbit and was happy to see I had nearly completed my 10,000 steps. I then weighed myself and stared in disbelief that I had already lost 4 pounds and reached my short term goal. I set a new weight goal and looked at the interface a little bit. I found it interesting that I could see at what time on Friday night I had driven Shawn to the grocery store. I could also see at what time Nut, Elyssa and I were at the zoo the day before. Those were periods that the Fitbit had registered increased activity, so I was impressed to say the least at the very least to see some apparent proof that this device is more sophisticated that Nut and I previously had discussed. He looked up the theory of operation behind the Fitbit and decided that though it wasn’t all too sophisticated it was nonetheless still a little impressive. I decided that if I reached 250 pounds I would declare my purchase of the Fitbit to be a good thing. Whether it is apparently a scam or not.

Elyssa desiring food and bothering me nonstop about going to the grocery store to look at fresh fruit for breakfast negotiated with me. We would go to the grocery store. But we would go to Jensen’s which is the local grocery store. We would go on foot and then we would walk back to Elyssa’s house. This plan of mine was an effort to cross the 4000 calorie threshold for today. Upon arriving at the grocery store I for the first time today realized I was hungry. We ended up buying more food than we should have. I purchased a larger ribeye steak, a carton of mushrooms, a loaf of French bread and a small container of whole milk. (My only weakness!) While Elyssa picked up green peppers, onions and a drink. We then proceeded to walk back to her house where I noticed I had blisters growing on both feet.

Upon arriving back at Elyssa’s house her parents immediately told us to take our shoes off. With much dismay I obliged and immediately after taking my first step without the cushion that was the sole of my shoe discovered just how extensive the damage was. I nearly screamed as I felt one of the blisters on the bottom of my feet pop and then hopped to the back door where I proceeded to cook. I am so glad that I was full within half of the chunk of meat that I grilled. I realized immediately after finishing the cooking process just how much food I had on my plate. I saved half of it for lunch tomorrow. I then drove home, greeted the puppy and proceeded to lay on my bed. It was at this time that the energy expelled during the weekend and the food coma I had received overcame each other and I zoned out for what felt like an hour.
